Los Angeles police has identified the suspect in the murder of rapper Nipsey Hussle as 29 year old Eric Holder.
Security camera video obtained by CNN shows the suspect walking up to Hussle and two other men as they stood outside the rapper’s clothing store, firing at them multiple times before running to a nearby alley and fleeing in a car driven by an unidentified female.
The Los Angeles law enforcement sources reports the gunmen and Hussle got into a fight before the shooting.
The medical examiner said that Hussle died within an hour from gunshot wounds to his head and torso. They administered CPR on Nipsey who was bleeding on the ground profusely before taking him to the hospital where he died.
A massive crowd of fans gathered throughout the day on Monday at the scene of the shooting to honor Hussle and a chaos erupted suddenly.
Aerial footage captured the crowd fleeing in all directions; shoes and smashed candles left behind, at least nineteen people were injured in the stampede, one person was critically wounded after being hit by a car.
Mourners carried the injured as fire fighters treated people at the scene; police rushed in and tried to disperse crowd and break up fights that broke out amid the confusion.
There are no further detail from the LAPD on a possible motive but Nipsey Hussle’s Facebook page suggest that he was a member of a street gang and just 30 minutes before he was shot he tweeted: “having strong enemies is a blessing”
Nipsey just dropped his first debut album this past year and also got nominated for the Grammy but he ended up losing to Cardi B. He was on a trajectory to success as he worked with industry heavyweights like Drake, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lemar and the list goes on. Nipsey was literally a legend of Los Angeles
